Navigating with G.P.S.
(Global Positioning System)

Details: Navigating with G.P.S. is an introductory class that is intended to familiarize you with the principals of G.P.S. navigation and basic use of a G.P.S. receiver.  The class is most valuable to students who are able to bring their portable G.P.S. units to class and operate them during a realistic class exercise.  The student without a G.P.S. device will be introduced to a number of different G.P.S. types during the course of the class and will be better prepared for a G.P.S purchase.

This is a three hour program in how to use marine charts to locate precise positions, store the location of positions into the G.P.S. receiver, plan a voyage and actually execute the planned voyage in simulated conditions.

Sailing Fundamentals
